Two packs can have similar prices but contain different quantities. To compare industrial paper rolls, start with the roll count, length of each roll and width. Then include delivery charges and the features your task requires.
Calculate the pack's total length
Total metres = number of rolls × metres per roll. A pack of two 400 m rolls contains 800 m. Check whether the advertised price is for one roll, a pack or a box containing several packs.
Use price per 100 metres
Cost per 100 m = pack price ÷ total metres × 100. In the example below, A costs more per pack but less per metre. These figures are illustrative, not SIC Refinish prices or offers.

Add delivery and compare the same taxes
If A had €6 delivery, the combined cost would be €30, or €3.75 per 100 m. When buying several packs, divide the order total by all metres received. Always compare amounts including the same items; do not compare a price excluding tax with one that already includes it.
Do not forget paper width
At equal length, wider paper contains a different area. If widths differ, calculate square metres too: total length × width expressed in metres. For example, 800 m of paper at 23 cm wide equals 184 m². This is surface area, not strength or absorbency.
Check consumption per task
A low cost per metre does not guarantee a low cost in use. To compare two products suited to the same task, record how much paper you need over a similar period of work. Avoid promising savings before you have that measurement.
